We have failed to vaccinate my little girl. Her last shots I think were either 6 months or at 9 months. She did not respond well. My mommy instinct kicked in and said not to continue. Turns out she had gluten intolerance, which I have found can be an underlying condition that can trigger autism after givng the shots. No facts, just from what I have been reading. She starts kindergarten this fall and we are still debating what to do about this issue. I feel like a good mom because I protected her but I feel like a bad mom cause she is not vaccinated. Brayden has had all his shots up to this point. The 1 year shots really frightened me. He got very sick after those shots and I began to have serious concerns. <BR/>I was even over-analyzing him for signs of Autism. He has never been one big on eye contact, but he has gotten much better lately. That's why children get more. it seems like a "no brainer" but people don't put that together.<BR/><BR/>Even if your child is vaccinated, there is a chance that they can get (and maybe even die from) the disease which they were vaccinated against since it's no vaccination works 100%. And if everyone "opted out" of vaccination we would have polio and measles and diphtheria, etc. epidemics and even more children would die.<BR/><BR/>I agree, educate yourself on vaccinations and what they contain. There is often not just 1 manufacturer of a vaccination and I am sure you could take pains to research each one and pick the one that is right for you.<BR/><BR/>I have done a ton of research and decided that the potential cons are substantially outweighed by the obvious gains of vaccination. And many people don't know that the vaccination schedule is not set in stone.
